An introduction to Mykonos Villa

How would you describe Mykonos Villa in a nutshell?

The villa is a luxurious vacation home on Mykonos, one of the Cycladic Islands in Greece. It has 4 bedrooms for up to 8 guests and offers all the amenities of a boutique hotel.

We were able to create something that seamlessly mixes contemporary design with a traditional Greek ambience. The villa is modern in terms of equipment and furnishings yet the style is Greek with white walls, gray accentuating pieces and marble floors. Rock walls, wooden furniture and a subdued color palette create a sense of warmth amidst the whitewashed structure.

Who should stay at Mykonos Villa and who should rather book something else?

Mykonos Villa is great for couples, groups of friends, as well as families — the villa is perfectly safe for children. All of the four bedrooms are totally independent which allows guests to live in their separate spaces, yet come together in the common areas. The house is not ideal, however, for individual guests who want to use it as a base for partying. Instead it is much better suited for people who choose it for the style and want a home away from home on their vacation.

Please tell us about the food.

The villa rental is fully equipped so that guests can easily prepare their own meals in the kitchen and enjoy them on the terrace. The closest shops are a ten-minute drive from the house, and if requested, we can arrange for all grocery shopping to be done and have it delivered to the villa.

We also have the option for guests to hire a personal chef to prepare breakfast and other meals. We do provide a guide for our guests that lists our recommendations of restaurants, things to do and see on the island, what beaches to visit and so on. Also, our concierge can give recommendations for restaurants in the area and take care of the reservations.

Mykonos Villa rooms & rates

The house has 4 double bedrooms. Common areas include an indoor lounge, with a TV and stereo system, a large living room and a fully equipped kitchen. There are two dining tables for up to 12 people that are inside and outside on the terrace. The villa has a beautiful 120 square meter terrace with the best view of the island at full sunset. There is also a nice marble pool and a garden-like area with plants and flowers, as well as a lounge area outside. We really wanted the property to have many different places to relax at.

The design of the house and all its interiors beautifully reflect the radiant sea views. The villa is the perfect place to take in the brilliance of this location, lean back and relax. For guests who bring a car we have a garage that has space for up to 3 cars and scooters. The villa was newly built and opened in the fall of 2016.

All of the four double bedrooms are accessible from the indoor lounge. There are three corridors, two that lead to an en-suite bedroom each; one of those rooms has a view of the back of the house. The third corridor goes to another two bedrooms that also have their own private bathrooms. One of these has access to the private terrace, and the other has access to the back of the house.

All bedrooms have satellite TV, great WiFi, and a safe to store personal belongings. The bathrooms are equipped with sound systems and feature Italian showers with marble tiling.

Everything at the villa is of a very high quality but with a homey feel. Inside the house, it is very cozy and invites you to relax. There are books and personal things, accessories and the like to make you feel at home away from home.

Mykonos Villa is a wonderful place to relax. You can stay back at the luxury villa, swim, lounge by the pool or on the terrace, enjoy the incredible sea views, read, listen to music or watch TV. Whenever you do feel like leaving the property, Mykonos is an island everyone can enjoy, whether you’re straight or gay, come by yourself, with a group of friends or your family. There’s something for everyone, such as great nightclubs, family restaurants as well as formal or trendy dining.

Some beaches have music and you can dance on the beach. Other beaches are gay only and some are more family oriented. You can take a boat out for a day to visit other nearby islands or tour around the island. There’s also a helicopter to see the islands from the air. We can of course always help with organizing your days, whether you’d like to rent a vehicle, take boat trips or helicopter tours or even gym classes.

The location of Mykonos Villa

The villa rental sits in a complex with nine other private villas yet everything is totally independent. The house sits at the very top of the hill, the highest point on the island, so the views are beyond amazing. The views are 180 degrees with all the islands in front of us and with the sun shining on the property literally all day long. It is very quiet as the road leading up to the house is small with barely any traffic on it.

The rental is located in Fanfari, about 4 kilometers from Mykonos town. The island is one of the Cycladic islands of Greece. Everything in Mykonos is very close and it takes no longer than 20 mins to get somewhere. We are located about 5 mins from town with the supermarket, 5 mins from the new port, and 15 mins from the beach.

I really like most that the beaches here are not the cheap-touristy kind. There are no plastic chairs or umbrellas; instead everything is well made and comfortable. In this region there are no billboards or big hotel chains but only small houses. Mykonos is a small island where everyone knows each other and the atmosphere is very cool.

When is the best time to visit Cyclades?

It really depends on what you are looking for. For those who want to take advantage of all the parties and clubs the last two weeks of July and first two weeks of August are definitely the busiest. For all the others who are looking to enjoy a much more quiet and less crowded experience I can highly recommend the first two weeks in July as well as the last two weeks in August. For me that is the best time to come if you want fewer crowds but a good mix of people, and also don’t have the budget for high time. June and September are even quieter as most of the tourists are gone. The first two weeks of October are also beautiful, but most things close for the year around October 20th.
