An introduction to Villa di Parma

How would you describe Villa di Parma in a nutshell?

Villa di Parma is a magical place. The house was built in 1840 and two aunts sisters originally owned it. My family took care of them and when they passed away, they left the house to our care. My brother and I are now the fourth generation to live here. We work to maintain the family history and share the pleasantness of this place with the world.

The vacation villa is in the middle of a large park on top of a hill. It’s listed as a cultural heritage site. It’s a very original place in terms of the nature surrounding it, the architecture, and its style. The food and local recipes are excellent. The mix of those factors makes it charming.

To you personally, what makes Villa di Parma special?

The magic of nature surrounding you. Sometimes in summer, the sky becomes really pink and the water of the swimming pool reflects that colour. It’s incredible.

When you are here, you don’t need anything. You can explore nature, be in the garden, go swimming, have dinner on the terrace, and in one hour you can be on the beach by the sea.

To me, it is a symbol of the story of my family, and it is a memorial to my father. He is the real founder of this project and the restructuring of the villa. He told me that he created the place for me to share with other people. The villa is more beautiful with people in it.

Villa di Parma rooms & rates

The villa is divided into two connecting parts that develop vertically. We have 8 guest rooms. There are 6 big suites with en-suite bathrooms and 2 bedrooms with private bathrooms.

As far as common spaces go, there’s a big living room with a grand piano, 2 kitchen, and 2 common bathroom.

Our park is 300,000 square metres big and the villa is nested in a 15,000 square metre section inside that bigger park. You’re completely absorbed in nature.

When you stay on vacation here, you have the impression to be alone in the area, when in fact you are near many small villages. You feel a special, positive energy when you stay here and your troubles just melt away.

From every window of the house you see a different landscape; and you see the changes in that landscape throughout the day.

Verfied Welcome Beyond stay
5 out of 5! We had an amazing stay at the villa. I woke up with the sunrise every morning. We spent a lot of time by the pool and were able to cook several meals. The rooms were beautiful and all the bathrooms have been updated with very modern amenities. Highly recommend booking Villa di Parma.

Verfied Welcome Beyond stay
It is difficult to imagine a better villa for a large group anywhere in the area. Villa di Parma is a grand and gated estate in the exurbs of Parma. There is the villa – two levels of spacious guestrooms above the main floor of dining, living, kitchen and similar spaces – along with a couple of outbuildings. It is extremely private, very quiet, and just the right amount of remote. There is a lovely and well-kept infinite pool, and a wealth of terrace, garden and outdoor seating areas, making for a vast sense of usable space. The interiors are interestingly appointed, with modern fixtures but historic furniture pieces, making it occasionally slightly reminiscent of a game Clue. On top of all of these compelling qualities, it also has the secret weapon of Carlotta (and her highly competent team)– a natural hostess who is genuinely invested in your appreciating the experience of the place. It is difficult to imagine a better villa for a large group anywhere in the area.

The location of Villa di Parma

We are located on the border of the regional park Boschi di Carrega in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. We are located five mins from the village of Sala Baganza. It’s a very small but nice village where you can find a famous old castle. A bit further away are more villages where you can find just about anything from shopping to services. Parma is about 20 mins by car.

There are only a few other smaller villas around, but ours is the biggest and it’s very private. You can’t see the neighbors and there’s no heavy traffic.

We are right in the centre of the Parmigiano and Parma ham producing area. One of the most important producers is a friend of ours. They are 20 mins by car from the villa and produce a very famous Parmigiano; one of the best I’ve tasted in my life.

We’re also near some very good restaurants. You can always find a grandmother who is cooking up very healthy food somewhere.

When is the best time to visit Emilia-Romagna?

May through June July and September through November are good because of spring blooming and the changes of colour in the fall. You really see the changes in nature during those seasons.

In August, even if Italy is generally really crowded you can stay here and still feel secluded and at peace. You can also enjoy the pool and have a bath at night when it’s still hot.

During winter, it’s not that cold and you can enjoy things like going to the nearest spa.
