— How would you describe Palazzina Alchimia in a nutshell?

Caroline: “Palazzina Alchimia is a vacation rental in the form of a charming, antique Puglian townhouse from the 18th century that has a modern touch and is tastefully furnished with designer pieces. It’s close to the main square in Fasano and has a beautiful roof terrace with views of the Mediterranean sea.”

— Please describe the layout of the vacation rental.

Caroline: “The townhouse has two levels and is set up for up to 4 guests. On the first floor there is the living room, kitchen, a small bathroom, and a balcony overlooking Corso Garibaldi. The bedroom and bathroom are on the second level.”

— Can you tell us more about the house and the rooms?

Caroline: “When you arrive, the first thing you see are the stairs that take you to the first floor, which has a very high ceiling living room and large kitchen and dining area. A few more stairs lead to a very nice balcony that looks out toward the sea. Yet a few more stairs go up to the bedroom with the open bathroom that’s divided by glass. There’s a double bed and some extra beds that can be added if needed. Finally, with a few more steps, you come to the terrace with the beautiful sea view. It has an outdoor shower and some beds and is a beautiful spot to relax.”

— How would you describe the atmosphere at Palazzina Alchimia?

Caroline: “It’s an eclectic atmosphere where the traditional floors and walls offer all the layers and story of the original house but are combined with modern designer furniture, vintage lamps, and photography and art. It’s a nice mix of exploring Italy’s heel and living in a small Mediterranean city with a Spanish ambiance.”

— Which guests is this rental perfect for, and which guests should go elsewhere?

Caroline: “Our townhouse is ideal for guests who want to be independent. I would not recommend it to guests looking for a hotel-type atmosphere. We wanted to provide a space to relax and rejuvenate which is why we decided against adding a TV to the house. We do have WiFi, however it might not be strong enough for a work connection.

It is perfect for couples as a really romantic hideaway within the city or even for small families. The house has a lot of stairs, which might make it difficult for smaller children or anyone with mobile disabilities.”

— What services do you offer at Palazzina Alchimia?

Caroline: “If requested, we can offer cleaning service, a concierge service and we always provide our guests with a list of recommendations for restaurants, shopping, and things to see. Tours can be arranged, as well as reservations for massages, restaurants, or anything guests like.

Breakfast is not included, but we offer tea and biscuits upon arrival. The kitchen is fully equipped and we can also organize cooks to come to the house and prepare local dishes. Otherwise guests can purchase groceries at the market in town and bring them back to cook at their leisure and have dinner on the balcony or the roof. On request we can also stock the kitchen before arrival.

A unique opportunity for our guests is to spend 4 days at Palazzina Alchimia and another 4 at Masseria Alchimia in Messina. That way our guest’s vacation has a mix of a city stay and a countryside retreat.”
