— How would you describe Gut Feeling in a few words?

Christine: “Gut Feeling is a unique vacation rental in Oberaudorf in Bavaria, Southern Germany, bordering on Austria and right on the foothills of the Alps. It is a modern, wooden house, luxuriously cozy and a very special place to stay at.”

— What was your inspiration to build this house and rent it out to vacation guests?

Christine: “Whenever we are traveling in different places of the world we always try to find something special, something out of the ordinary. However, we realized that it is extremely rare to find such places. Ultimately, when we were lucky enough to buy this property we decided to build our own little paradise and share it with others.

We wanted to create something that through the materials we used would make guests feel comfortable and at ease. Yet at the same time clean lines, simplicity and the luxury of well-organized spaces were essential for us.”

— How would you describe the atmosphere inside your vacation home?

Christine: “The atmosphere of the house is quite unique. Imagine this wooden structure with three levels and a big glass façade that can be opened completely. The way it was built there are so many different ways of connecting the outside with the inside of the house. You can experience the luxury of two environments brought together, the comfort and coziness of the inside connected to the incredible nature that is just right outside.”

— Please tell us about the different rooms in the house.

Christine: “The rooms of the house are relatively small but the open staircase makes it feel much larger. You can find your own private space and at the same time always feel connected to everyone else in the house due to the open layout and a lack of closed-off rooms. Public spaces are dominating, such as the kitchen and dining area, which look right out to the garden where the Auerbach, a small stream, is winding through.

There are three different levels. On the ground floor are the kitchen, dining and living room with a fireplace. Bedroom and bathroom are on the first floor while the second floor has a freestanding bathtub and a chill-out area that can be turned into a second bedroom.”

— To you personally, what is the best thing about staying at this vacation home?

Christine: “The materials and colors we used inside the house create an extremely comfortable and calming atmosphere. When I am at Gut Feeling I always feel so relaxed and disconnected from everyday stress or worries. One of my favorite things is to look out through the big glass façade and watch as the weather changes in the mountains. I can find peace and tranquility here.”

— Ever since Gut Feeling was started, what has been the greatest reward to your personally?

Christine: “The biggest reward for us has been hearing from our vacation guests about how at peace they feel after staying at the house for a few days. Many of our guests come and explore the house, noticing little details and how much work and love we put into it. It always surprises me how everyone notices something different about the house. I love hearing about our guests’ findings and impressions.”
