— Please tell us a little about the history of the house.
When we started renovating, we tried to keep all the rooms more or less like they were. We really wanted to respect the style of the house. We made five rooms on the first floor and a very big common room on the ground floor, as well as an apartment for our family.
There weren’t any chimneys in the house, so we built two. We also had to put in six bathrooms as there weren’t any in the house. With the space available, we were able to build big bathrooms with tubs and showers.”

— What made you fall in love with this house?
What’s charming about this house is that it’s in the middle of the village, so we have the atmosphere and the advantages of living in a village. The house also has a cute garden — I really love plants. They create a warm atmosphere for the hotel. We opened more windows to the garden so holiday guests can see it better.”
— La Frida bathroom
— What was your inspiration to start this holiday rental?
Then we fell in love with Catalonia and the Costa Brava. We were very lucky to find this place.”
— How would you describe the style of the rental?
Many details of the house are influenced by Morocco, for example the tiles on the ground floor. As for the rooms, the colors are based on the type of furniture we put in them. We have an eclectic mix of furniture from many different places.”

— Looking back, what has been the biggest reward to you personally about running Casa Rural?
The house makes them feel relaxed. This opens up a new relationship with customers. It’s not like in a regular hotel where people come to stay and you don’t even see them. We try to respect the independence of each guest, but we are here for them when they need us.”
